Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved. - Helen Keller

Waiting to Exhale...

This is my life right now. On the days I go to school I get up at 5 am to start my day. I have to be on the road to Nashville by 6:30am so I can miss all the rush hour traffic, well, most of it. I generally reach the school by 7:30, better to be there an hour early than to get caught up in traffic and be late. Did I mention I hate being late?
Ok, so I have an hour to drink my coffee, read back through all my notes and wake up. Class starts at 8:30...we have our first break at 10:30, back in class by 10:45 (10:50 if the teacher is so inclined). Then we are in class until 12:30, we are free for lunch for a whole glorious 30 minutes then we are back at it by 1:00. Again we get a 15-20 minute break at 2:30 then we finish out the class which ends at 5:00. I am usually home by 6:30 pm.
The wonderful Gentlemen that run Nossi feel that we should have at least 3 hours of homework for each hour we spend in class, so I spend the other 3 days of the week not in school, working on homework, taking care of my family and house. Monday I will start a job that will then take up one to two days a week, which I will somehow squish in with all that homework. The job is in my field and holds some great future potential, so I would be a fool not to get my foot in the door now.
I am so happy with all of this, the being busy, the fact that I feel like I now have a direction to go in and that I'm so crazy tired at night that I am asleep before I hit the pillow. I am also ready for something to give and thankfully that something is school. I have four weeks until my official graduation date (we walked 10 weeks ago, but it just didn't feel official to me seeing as we still had ten weeks). August 19, 2010 I will have an AOS in Graphic Art and Design! And...I will be able to exhale, and get on with getting on with my life.

Congratulations on graduating! I can relate to this post 110%. I have the same schedule and tonight I am so bored with it. It was encouraging to read that it is worth the pain!
