The Verdict Is In...Kinda...
First let me say...sorry that it has taken me so long to get back to you all on the visit...
I went in and the Doc went in and did his thing!...Then he told me that I have HPV (Human Papillomaviruse)...The kind that causes cervical cancer, though there is no detection of cancer so far...so, I have to go back every 4 months so that can be watched. I am supposed to get a vaccination (three shots in total) for it, they cost $350.00 a piece...all out of pocket. I just don't see how I'm going to do it, but that's for later thought.
I'm still researching this vaccination, what I have read so far is not really comforting because HPV has over one hundred different strains and this vaccine is comprised of only a few...the trouble lies in the fact that if you happen to have one type specific to the vaccine and it is dormant the shots can activate it and can actually cause the cancer that you may or may not have gotten without the vaccine.
Rant Warning!!!
On Side Note: The Government is trying to make this vaccination mandatory for all teenage girls...In The great state of Texas it already is! Anybody else see the problem here? If they try that shit here...I'll move to Mexico! I refuse to have the government take away my rights as a parent to decide what is right or safe for my children! Especially when what they are forcing could do far more damage than good in the end...And...Yes, I'm a total bitch when it comes to someone messing with my kids...I don't give a damn who it is!
End Rant
On a lighter note...I thought I would add some of my favorite photos...

21 Stop to say hello...:
HPV is extremely common. Did your doctor mention any other options other than the three shots (not the normal proceedure for treating HPV)?
The vaccine is Gardasil (it's the one on the commercial where they all want to be ...One Less) There is one other vaccine, same basic thing made by a different company...same price. So far these are the two main vaccines to created to stop cervical cancer caused by HPV. Aside from just having a hysterectomy, I guess.
As far as I have been able to tell in all my research over the last couple of days...there is no cure for HPV. For some it will clear up on its own, for others it will always be there...while others may have it without ever knowing or showing a symptom...very scary!
Hmm ... Now I'm not expert at all on these things cause since I'm a guy they don't really affect me, but I really thought the vaccine was only effective in someone BEFORE they have contracted HPV. That's why they keep recommending that girls get the shots when they are still young. Maybe I'm wrong about that though.
Anyway, if I were you I'd maybe get a second opinion if at all possible. Just to make sure of what really should be the next step.
Jay: Did you know that men can develop anal cancer and genital warts from HPV?
Yes, they think it is more successful if used before HPV shows up, the problem is it can also cause the very thing its supposed to protect from.
I love my Dr. and I don't think I could bear to have yet another man poking around...also, my Dr is kind enough to give me huge discounts because all of this is coming out of my hubby's pocket, I don't know that I could pay the full price it would cost to see anyone else.
PS...men can also carry it their whole lives never knowing they have it and never seeing any symptoms of ill effects as they are passing it on...
"Jay: Did you know that men can develop anal cancer and genital warts from HPV?"
Yeah, well that will keep me up tonight. Thanks for that. LOL ;-)
There is some really nice ass up there! Thank you...that made my day!
I don't know much about this thing you speak of, but you know that I always wish you the best!!!
I know nothing about it, but if you determine u need the shot then get it, sell the furniture if you have to.
You can't move to Mexico that is a one way lane.
Lastly I hope against all things good that that is your ass in the walking away pic. If it aint then IDGAF it is forever yours in my mind!!!!!!
Jay: Anytime! ;-) Think of me tonight while you're up...lol!
Rock Dog: I aim to please! Thank You. I'm hoping for the best.
Southern Sage: I figure that if I move to Mexico it should be pretty easy to get back in, I mean...Mexicans do it every day.. (I hope to God that didn't sound racist in any way because that is NOT how I meant it...)
And sure, that's my ass ;-) Actually I don't think it's too far off...hmmm...must find that pic of me getting a caning for you...you can compare and decide for yourself! ;-)
i just got my v-exam stats back from ths hosp. and they said I was High Risk for HPV but my gyanec assures me it's nothng to worry about. Freakin docs really scare me sometimes.
please don't.
Then I might just touch myself and the thought might embarrass you.
I think I have seen your body kinda in different pics on the blog, have nooooooooo worries!
Firefoxcub: Thanks for stopping by! I'm sure hoping I don't have anything to worry about and have decided not to worry too much until I have to.
Southern Sage: Touch yourself hmmm...Sure you just don't want me to ruin that image in your mind...lol! I'm glad though, I went back and looked at the pic again and I'm not sure that's one I really should post...It might scare some of my favorite bloggers away! ;-)
oh no, my response was 1/2 tobgue and cheek, the dont post part, the self touching was true!
you dont have to post it, I have an email addy!!
I'm working on something for folks in your position, proll post it monday night.........
I'm sorry to hear that. Hope it works out though. I don't quite understand why they would have mandatory vaccination shots, when apparently the vaccine is not 100%.
Some seriously nice pictures there too.
And, thanks for visiting!
I hate it that you're going through this. If you want to talk, you know where to find me!
GREAT pics! I might snag a few if you don't mind!
I love naked women! There's just something about a naked woman that makes me fell all warm and tingly inside. ;)
It's good to hear that you do not have cancer.
And I hate to admit this Scarlett, but I think the government already controls us. I'm going to go hide under my bed now. ;)
Sorry to hear this, Scarlett! It's good to know you'll keep getting checked out, just to make sure things are still okay. Sometimes bodies are a real pain in the ass, aren't they?
Thank You!
Yeah...my body is a total pain in the ass...!
Scarlett - HPV is extremely common, I agree with Dana. Not to say it's not worrysome for you, but make sure you are well informed.
HPV vaccine always sounded good to me... it seems to be the best way to protect young girls from getting HPV, I guess i'll have to read more about it, I never heard that you can actually GET HPV from the vaccine.
Hope you are feeling okay, i have missed reading you. (I love the new picture by the way, and the new look of your blog)
michelle
that girl: So nice to see you!
Yeah, I tripped a little bit, but only after reading so much of the info out there...the info on it causing cancer was from the official FDA site.
It's very freaky for me because I've never had to deal with such a thing...the thought of something living inside my body that I may or may not ever be rid of...that I might or might not pass on to another human being...ugh!
Thank you, I got kind of tired of the old one...
